Activity 6 - Google Classroom

When I started with activity six, I did not think google classroom would apply to my classroom. However, after playing around with it for a while, and seeing how simple it is to use, I am excited to show my class so we can have our own virtual classroom. Not only can I see myself posting comments, important information, and assignments but I feel it will be a way for my students to communicate with me outside of classroom hours. They can ask questions to me or their peers and receive answers. If they forget an assignment at school this will be a great way to get an extra copy. I am excited to be able to show videos and articles to students to see at home, then be able to discuss at school the next day. I can even post challenges for students to practice over long breaks. I am not one to say we need to push kids outside of school hours, but it is cool to think that school is no longer confined to a 8 hour time frame. I am excited to use google classroom this year. I think it can make an impact on student learning in my classroom.

  1. I like the assignments you put in Classroom. Your technology contract is well-written in student-friendly language, and I like that your students can pull it up at home to share with parents and demonstrate how to access Google Classroom. You found a great site for cybersafety that I might have to use with my students. :) And the glass of water assignment is a great way to compile information as a class to use to answer questions. Google Classroom is an intuitive way to share information with students and organize the docs they need to share with us. You have great ideas for how to use it to enrich and expand the learning process!
